I was born and raised in Chiba, Japan, just a short distance from Tokyo. Though I had always enjoyed high-quality green tea, my first visit to my husband’s hometown in Kakegawa, Shizuoka, completely changed my perspective.

The moment I took my first sip, I was amazed.
“This tea is incredible! So refreshing, yet rich in flavor. And the aroma is simply wonderful.”

I had always been particular about choosing high-quality green tea, but Kakegawa tea was unlike anything I had ever tasted before.

As a professional writer, I started my career in magazine editorial before transitioning into advertising as a copywriter. Through my work, I had the opportunity to interview Japanese tea farmers and discovered something surprising:

Yet, many farmers simply sell their tea quietly, without global recognition.

Sharing Kakegawa Tea with the World

After moving to Germany with my husband, I brought plenty of Kakegawa tea with me. When I shared it with my Japanese friends, their reactions were the same:
